I still remember the exact moment I opened my email that Sunday morning. I wasn’t rushing. I wasn’t distracted. I was simply checking my inbox—until I saw a message from Lee Harris’s team.

And I just stared at the screen.

I had joined Lee’s Portal community a few months earlier, and not long after that, I enrolled in his Next Level Healer programs, including a six-month coaching experience with Lee and his brother, Mark. Still, nothing about that email felt ordinary. Because three weeks earlier, I had written Meet Lee Harris at the very top of my manifestation list. When I wrote it down, I imagined something modest. Maybe attending an in-person event one day. Maybe getting the chance to shake his hand, say hello, and tell him how deeply his work had shaped my healing.

What showed up instead was something entirely different.

When the Universe Answers Differently Than You Expect

For those unfamiliar with Lee Harris, he’s an energy intuitive, channeler, author, musician, and mentor whose work is known worldwide. I’ve long resonated with his monthly energy updates—how he bridges personal healing with the collective experience in a grounded, practical way. His brother Mark is a business and marketing coach who works specifically with healers, creatives, and spiritual entrepreneurs.

And suddenly, I was being invited into a space where both of those worlds were about to intersect with my life.

Meeting Lee Harris wasn’t just on my manifestation list—it was number one. And instead of meeting him in passing, or listening from the audience, I was meeting him one-on-one. Being coached. Sharing my story. Receiving guidance.

It felt surreal. And honestly? It stayed surreal for a long time.

Slowing down to meet the moment

I took a personal day from work. I didn’t want to hold the responsibilities of being a public school art teacher while also preparing—emotionally and energetically—for something this meaningful. I didn’t want to rush. I didn’t want to squeeze it into the margins of my life.

That morning, I moved slowly and intentionally. My daughter stayed home with me because she wasn’t feeling well, which shifted my original plan—but in hindsight, everything unfolded exactly as it needed to. I set up downstairs in our lower living space. It was quiet. Calm. Grounding. No barking dog. No interruptions. There was also a deeper layer of significance.

Each month, only two people are selected from a community of over 700 participants to be coached live by Lee. Only twelve people total receive one-on-one coaching over the six months. Somehow, I was one of them.

I was second to go that session, and I won’t sugarcoat it—I was nervous. My mind kept racing ahead, rehearsing what I wanted to say, hoping I wouldn’t forget something important, wondering how I could possibly distill years of healing into a few minutes.

So I grounded myself.
I connected with my guides.
I called in my higher self and God.
And I asked my soul to speak through me.

Because this wasn’t about sounding polished.
It was about clarity.
It was about finally understanding how everything I’ve lived, healed, and created connects.

The question beneath the question…

For years, I had felt like I was evolving in so many directions that I couldn’t see the through line. My healing journey began just over four years ago with grief—losing my mom before I ever got to say the things I needed to say. What I thought was a career move into NLP became the doorway into healing my mother wound, releasing guilt and shame, and grieving not just her loss, but the relationship I never had.

As I healed, new layers of myself emerged: Reiki. Intuition. Aura painting. Mediumship. And alongside those gifts came old fears—fear of not being good enough, fear of abandonment, and a deep struggle to trust myself after years of people pleasing, overachieving, and seeking validation outside of myself.

My business followed my healing. Every time something stopped feeling good in my body, it asked to evolve. At the same time, I was walking a lonely path—learning how to speak honestly about my spiritual experiences, navigating differences in belief, and eventually stepping out of what I now lovingly call the “spiritual closet.”

What I’ve come to understand is this: the last four years weren’t about becoming someone new. They were an unraveling—so I could integrate the best parts of me.

Healing changed how I relate to teaching

One of the biggest realities shaping my life right now is a deep identity shift around being a public school teacher.

For a long time, I imagined eventually teaching at the collegiate level—supporting new art teachers, helping them build confidence as they entered the profession. But after recovering from burnout, something inside me knew that wasn’t my path.

As I healed my mother wound, I began to understand something crucial: school was my safe emotional space.

Education gave me structure, belonging, and a sense of worth. Teaching wasn’t just a career—it was how I learned to feel safe, valued, and capable in the world. In many ways, it was a coping mechanism. A meaningful one. A loving one. But a coping mechanism nonetheless.

And when I began valuing myself simply because I matter—not because of what I do or how much I give—something shifted.

My capacity for misaligned systems changed.
My tolerance for expectations that didn’t serve a soul-aligned purpose diminished.
What once felt manageable began to feel heavy and constricting.

Even as an art teacher, my creativity often feels undernourished—unable to evolve the way my soul longs for. I know I can be the teacher I want to be. And I’ve also known for a long time that I will eventually outgrow this role.

That knowing didn’t come from burnout alone. Burnout was the wake-up call. The healing that followed confirmed what I already knew.

When Someone Mirrors Your Truth Back to You

All of this was alive inside me when I spoke with Lee. After listening, he reflected something back immediately: that what I was creating—and what I was being called to create—was something that supports the creative soul.

At one point, he even referred to me as a creativity master teacher. And something in my body clicked. Because creativity has never been just about art for me. It’s about remembering who you are. It’s about confidence, autonomy, and expression. It’s about helping people find themselves again.

Creativity is not one-size-fits-all.
And it doesn’t belong in a box.

We eventually circled back to the podcast I had planned to launch—Auras & Art. I was ready to release it. Everything was lined up. But I knew I couldn’t move forward. Not because it wasn’t aligned—but because it was too small.

Lee asked a simple question: What would actually light you up? What could you explore for years to come?

The answer was clear. Creativity.

Creativity as healing.
Creativity as remembering.
Creativity as a way home.

That’s the foundation of my new podcast, Creative b Nature. A space for multifaceted creatives. For people who no longer fit inside the identities or systems they once called home. For those ready to honor the fullness of who they are.

A Heartfelt Thank You

Before we ended our session, Lee shared that he would listen to my podcast.

So Lee—thank you. Thank you for the reflection, the permission, and the reminder that being multifaceted isn’t something to shrink.

It’s something to honor.

Because that’s what the world needs.
And in truth, it’s who we all are.
